Ultrasound Technologist Program Overview

In as little as 20 months, ACC’s Associate of Occupational Science in Ultrasound Technology program is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and clinical training needed to work in diagnostic medical sonography.

The curriculum combines general education courses, ultrasound imaging theory, hands-on laboratory training, and over 900 hours of real-world clinical experience. Students train to develop the skills needed to perform ultrasound examinations and produce images that assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions.

Key areas of study include:

  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Ultrasound physics and instrumentation
  • Medical terminology
  • Abdominal and small parts sonography
  • Obstetrics and gynecology ultrasound imaging
  • Vascular ultrasound imaging
